There is of course,
more to Monkey Mia then dolphins. There are dugong, turtles, manta
rays and whales. On offer are a number of cruise and tour operators,
to take you up close to the unique wildlife and habitats of this
region. Then there are the stromatolites at Hamelin Pool, one of
the oldest organisms on the planet, dating back some three billion
years. These brown clumps look like rocks peeping out of the water,
and offer an insight into the earths distant past.
Dont forget
to check out the Monkey Mia Visitor Centre. One of the special featues is the
NatureBase DolphinCam. This webcam operates approximately 12
hours a day, capturing images of the foreshore where the dolphins
come to mingle with humans. A selection of images are archive for
