Mullalyup was once part of a thriving timber industry in the region, as still
evident in the historic Blackwood Inn, built as part of the
original staging posts, linking Bunbury and Bridgetown. Today, Mullalyup is
a quiet village on the picturesque northern gateway to the Blackwood River Valley,
located halfway between Kirup and
Balingup. It has a relax atmosphere, seemingly
miles away from care and offers a number of attractions, scenic walks and accommodation for those
staying overnight or longer.
