Located in a picturesque spot on the South Coast region of Western Australia is
the hamlet of Peaceful Bay. With Denmark
just over 45 km to the west and the charming town of Nornalup
an even closer 15 km to the east, visitors to the area can enjoy a variety of
activities from swimming, fishing, boating, snorkelling and diving. There are
also long stretches of
sandy beach for the beach lovers. As well as a great spot for walkers, there are
four wheel drive tracks providing access to the areas wild and rugged coastline.
Just a short 20 minute drive will take you the Walpole-Nornalup National Park
and the Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk. The national park is nearly 20,000
hectares of towering karri and tingle forests, as well as coastal heath. The
national park and Tree Top Walk is one of the major drawcards for this area.
This region of Peaceful Bay also contains the only endemic stand of red
flowering gum (Corymbia Ficifolia), and along with over 40 species of native
orchids provide a wildflower haven for the enthusiast.
