Small town located 343km south of Perth on the South West Highway. Half way
between Walpole and the Valley of the Giants.
Timber has always been the
mainstay of the area with several timber mills operating at the turn of the
century. Milling is still a large part of the economy cutting the famous and
massive Karri trees. Tourism and related businesses have boomed in recent years
trout and marron farms have sprung up, arts and crafts, wineries, 4WD tours,
chalets, bed n breakfasts, abseiling, fishing and much more.
