Flora and Fauna
Among the tuart trees can be found peppermint trees proving secondary storey
growth. There are remnant patches of several plant species including fungi, some
species which have yet to be named. The trees provide an abundance of nesting
hollows that are used by waterbirds that feed in the adjacent wetlands and the
endangered nguarer (western ringtail possum). Other wildlife include the koomal
(brushtail possum), wambenger (brush-tailed phascogale), quenda (southern
brown bandicoot), bush rat, kangaroo, several species of birds of prey and nocturnal
birds.
