Located in the famous tourist destination of Swan Valley and just 17 km north east of Perth’s city centre, Whiteman borders Henley Brook and is home to the popular Whiteman Park, a huge 4,000 hectares recreation and conservation park.

For those interested in transport, the park is also home to a very strong transport heritage, starting from ‘Revolutions’, the Whiteman Park’s transport heritage centre. There is also the Motor Museum of WA, Tractor Museum of WA, Bus Preservation Society of WA, Western Australian Light Railway Preservation Association (operating Bennett Brook Railway) and the Perth Electric Tramway Society (operating the Whiteman Tramway).
 

Whiteman is a small suburb of the Swan Valley Ward that includes Baskerville, Belhus, Brigadoon, Caversham, Gidgegannup, Henley Brook, Herne Hill, Middle Swan, Millendon, Red Hill, and West Swan.

Visitors to the region can enjoy all that the Swan Valley has to offer, with numerous attractions from wineries, breweries, distilleries, cafes and restaurants, arts and craft, fresh local produce etc.

Swan Valley Food and Wine Trail
• Experience the many wonders along the award-winning Food and Wine Trail, a 32 kilometre scenic loop taking in more than 150 wineries, lively breweries, fine restaurants, bustling caf้s, distilleries, shops, accommodation outlets and roadside stalls selling fresh produce.

The trail is sign-posted and works in conjunction with the Swan Valley guide and maps available from the Swan Valley Visitor Centre in Guildford and is designed to help you plan you own unique food and wine experience.

• Whiteman Park is a unique recreation and conservation reserve that covers nearly 4,000 hectares of natural bushland and leisure facilities in Perth’s northern suburbs. Here you can enjoy life’s simplest pleasures - walking or cycling on peaceful bush paths, playing with the kids or simply delighting in the calming sights and sounds of our unspoilt natural heritage. Check out some of our attractions including our Birds of Prey Flying Display, Caversham Wildlife Park, Handcraft Centre, Motor Museum of WA and much more. There is also our Dog Park offering a free run enclosure just for dogs.

• Caversham Wildlife Park showcases many of Australia’s unique native animals, providing visitors with eh opportunity for a close-up encounter with some of Australia icons. The park features about 200 species and more than 2,000 head of animals, birds and reptiles, all housed in walk-through or walk-in environments.

Visitors to the park are assisted by wildlife professionals dedicated to exceptional service ensuring our visitors receive the best opportunities for animal contact, photographs and information.
