The Australian Domain Name Administrator (auDA)
• .au Domain Administration Ltd (auDA) is the policy authority and industry self-regulatory body for the .au domain space.

Check out the auDA Accredited Registrars. Those listed are authorised by auDA to provide services to people who want to register a new domain name, renew their existing domain name, or make changes to their domain name record. Specific services and fee schedules may vary from registrar to registrar.

ICANN • Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers
• To reach another person on the Internet you have to type an address into your computer - a name or a number. That address has to be unique so computers know where to find each other. ICANN coordinates these unique identifiers across the world. Without that coordination we wouldn't have one global Internet.

ICANN was formed in 1998. It is a not-for-profit partnership of people from all over the world dedicated to keeping the Internet secure, stable and interoperable. It promotes competition and develops policy on the Internet’s unique identifiers.

ICANN doesn’t control content on the Internet. It cannot stop spam and it doesn’t deal with access to the Internet. But through its coordination role of the Internet’s naming system, it does have an important impact on the expansion and evolution of the Internet.

• Nominet is the Internet registry for .uk domain names. We operate at the heart of e-commerce in the UK, running one of the world's largest Internet registries and managing over six million domain names.We maintain the register of .uk domain names. We run the technology which locates a computer on the Internet hosting the web site or email system you're looking for when you type in a web address or send an email to an address that ends in .uk.
